The sky this morning was absolutely majestic. As the kids and I were driving to school, we all gazed upon the heavens as we sat awe of His creation and His beauty.

What replayed in my spirit over and over again as I was mesmerized by what was set before me was, “The heavens declare His beauty. Let every breath PRAISE the Lord for His mercies are new every morning.”

As we continued to drive and the skies continued to light up with glory upon glory, I looked at the sky to the right and to the left of this magnificence and said, “Ok kids, teachable moment right here. Everyone listen. Do you see what is placed before us? God has blessed us with an angelic sky. Our souls are rejoicing and we are amazed at the beauty He is displaying for our eyes to see. But look to your right and look to your left. To the right you see a dim sky and to the left there is a cloud of darkness. It’s all about perspective. We can look at the glory, the scenery, the beauty placed before us and be in awe of what God is doing in and through our lives but it just takes a simple glance to the right or to the left to throw us off track, changing our mindset, and our perspective of what is reality.”

Wow, isn’t that the truth. It all comes down to PERSPECTIVE . How many of you struggle with how you see things or how you perceive the situation you are walking through? Our reality can become distorted if we choose to look to our right or to our left instead of looking at our own race, the race God has set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus. I believe the enemy is on a mission. The chanting. The bragging. The comparing. The jealousy and envy. The getting in our faces, in our minds, causing chaos and distractions so our eyes don’t stay fixed on the glorious prize He has ordained for our lives. Because, if he, the enemy, can cause you to look to the right or to the left, we will quickly forget that “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). We will forget that we need to daily take up our cross and follow Him. We will forget that we need to let everything that has breath praise the Lord. We will forget to stop, breathe in, and embrace the beauty placed before our eyes.

So maybe you needed this “teachable” moment today in your own life. Maybe your perspective has been off and you have been on a negative spiral of dim skies and dark clouds hovering over your life. Maybe God is stirring something in your spirit right now and you feel the sledgehammer of conviction as you know you need to stop looking in every other direction except in the direction straight ahead, fixing your eyes on HIM.

My prayer for you today is that you soak Him in and embrace all the little things He is placing before you. He has you in the palm of his hand friend and He is carrying you through. Wrapping you in love, covering you in prayer.

Sending big Jesus love and hugs to you all.
