While having my quiet time with the Lord this morning He brought me to this verse in 1 Peter 3:3-4, “ Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight, ” and when I tell you how timely this was, well let’s just say I needed these words of encouragement and affirmation today desperately.
Walking through a plethora of raw, hard and real emotions as things are about to CHANGE in my life, God reminded me that my worth, my identity is not found in the outward appearance but in our inner being. That who I am is not in things but in Christ.
Oh how I wish we could all grasp onto this truth and allow God to mold and shape us into the image He knit out for us instead of trying to keep up with the ones we “orchestrated” out for ourselves.
If you are battening with your self image, body image or self worth, mediate on these words from 1 Peter 3:3-4. We don’t need things to mask the beauty that lies within. Allow God to strip the mask or many masks off and allow the natural beauty He has perfectly and wonderfully placed within YOU to shine through.
Words I needed today and words I will need to be reminded of in the coming days and weeks. Y’all God is good and He leads us besides quite waters to refuel and refresh our souls. Take time today to be still with Him. He is speaking so the question is, are you listening?
Be blessed in Him today
