Today is a day about love. 1Corinthians 13 says: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
I love this because this right here is how God intended us to love. As we walk out into the world today and as we encounter people, remember that at the core of who we are and created to be, we want to deeply be loved. SO many around us are broken, wounded and fragile because love has hurt them, disappointed them and they have vowed to never love again. Be different today, see out of a broken lens and see through the eyes of God. Meet someone in their pain as maybe they have never experienced unconditional or unfailing love. Maybe someone has beans shattered by love or what they believe love is. Be Jesus in the flesh today and love on them in such a way that they want MORE and your encounter with them changes the course of their journey.
God created us in love and to be loved. Valentines Day isn’t necessarily about your “sweetheart” but its about going into the world an being LOVE and showing LOVE. Unfortunately we have “one” designated day to show people we love them, lets make a difference and have Valentines Day every day.
