I LOVE this picture my precious friend Trudy posted a few weeks ago. I’ve had it stored on my phone because God was speaking so profoundly to me through the bright simplicity of this photo.

When my eyes first gazed upon it, I stopped and just praised God for His beautiful creation, especially since I love sunflowers. But then my soul began to stir as my eyes became fixated on the two leaves that were bent inward.

It reminded me of the days when life seems so overwhelming and overbearing that I feel trapped in an emotional prison. The days that seem so dark and gloomy and the days I count down the hours to bed because I cannot wait for the day to end.  This flower reminded of the days I look outside my window and think to myself, wow everyone else’s lives are going on as usual and here I am, still in my pajamas, wallowing in the dreariness of my utter brokenness.

Have you ever had one of those days? You know the days when nothing seems to go right and you feel like the enemy is attacking you with one storm after another? Those days you are so broken you don’t ever know how you will begin to piece yourself back together? The days when being functional and normal seem so far out of reach that hopelessness begins to set in and follow you like a dark cloud? Or those days when you are on your knees praying fervently asking God for direction, breakthroughs, to hear His voice, SOMETHING??

Well I have had too many of those days but what is so amazing about this picture and about our God is that even on the days when we feel bent, the days we feel maxed out, the days we think to ourselves, hmmm, the Bible states He doesn’t give us more than we can handle and HELLO God, I am at my limit, if anything else comes at me I am going to have a nervous breakdown. God I can’t do this anymore, I can’t take this anymore, God are you with me?

It’s on those days we are we are reminded that although we feel bent, we are not broken. It’s on those days we need to step away from the distractions and triggers of the world and we need to lean into God. We need to cling to the cross, His promises and speak scriptures into our soul. We need to position ourselves before Him, refreshing and refueling our souls with His truths. The Bible says darkness will never overcome light so it’s on those days we need to be still before HIM, allowing Him to pour His strength, His anointed, healing hands and His profound wisdom over and through us so His light can remain ignited. It’s on those days we need to remind ourselves to let go and let God, to surrender our hurts, pains, and disappointments over to Him and allow His lavishing love to fall upon you, so we can be saturated in the depths of His unfailing love.

It’s on those we cannot give into our flesh and isolate ourselves from the people we love most but rather, we need to dig deep within for the courage to reach out to the people, that person that can come alongside of us and position us before the healing light of Christ.

We need to remember that the enemy wants us to stay in the dark. He wants us to begin to question our faith and question God, but it’s on those dark days when our hands are touching everything around us,  searching for something to grab onto to lead us back onto solid ground, that He reaches out His mighty hands, grabs ahold of us and LEADS us step by step back into His light. His greatest work is done in our darkest hour and that is why when we cannot see because the heaviness of life has us blindfolded, we need to envision this beautiful sunflower and remind ourselves that God has us. That He promises in His word that He WILL go before us to level the mountains and cut down the bars of iron. That He will never leave us nor forsake us. That Greater He who is in me than He who is in the world. That He already won he battle and the victory is His, it’s ours.  That we are strong and courageous and that we CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Y’all His promises are TRUTH and I can testify to that because I have seen and experienced His healing, anointed hands over and over again in my life. Nothing is too big nor to small for Him and His desire is for you to be healed, to be set free and for the radiance of Him in you to be as blissfuly bright and beautiful as this sunflower. The freedom, the Jesus in you will light up the room, it will change your trajectory and you will be transformed.

Hold onto Him, lean into Him, and trust Him to lead the way. There is hope in Christ and there is power in the name of Jesus. Allow Him to do what only He can do.

Love y’all beyond ❤️❤️❤️
