For so many years when I looked in the mirror I had a hard time seeing anything beautiful. I had so much guilt, shame and unforgiveness for myself that all I saw was ugly used goods. I would claim things on me like, I am ugly, I am fat, I am worthless, I am unlovable and I never truly grasped the strongholds and bondage those words were placing over me.
It wasn’t until I went through a deliverance with Chuck Craft about 10 years ago that I realized how damaging these words were not only to my beliefs about myself, but to my soul. I believed I was all these things and I walked through life living them out. It was these words that set me free from and changed my posture in who I truly am. He said we should NEVER claim the words “I Am” on ourselves because then you are claiming that as your identity and your identity lies in HIM, it doesn’t lie anywhere else. We may FEEL a certain way about ourselves but that does not mean we ARE a certain way. WOW WOW WOW, those words penetrated through every vessel of my being and chains began to break and I was set free.
Sometimes when we look in the mirror we see a damaged, wounded soul instead of the beautiful child God created us to be. Squint your eyes if you need to, take a deeper look, because there is so much beauty that lies within. Satan has tried to taint your vision of how you view yourself. He has tried to steal the joy and blind you by allowing you to believe you are ALL these things that you are not. We have claimed unnecessary things on ourselves because the world tells us we need to look and be a certain way and we have been so hurt by others actions that we take it as a direct attack on who we are instead of who they are not. Satan came to steal, kill and destroy and his first target has been you. Clean the mirrors and rest in this truth. GOD created your inmost being; he you knit together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). He created you perfectly, without flaw. He created you just the way HE wanted you to be. HE created you to look in the mirror, with a purity in your eyes, being able to see clearly without any distractions or fog and see the exquisitely, absolutely beautiful person He created within. Start claiming the true “I AM’s” over your life and stop believing the lies. Claim; I AM perfectly and wonderfully made, I AM the apple of HIS eye, and I AM THE CHILD OF THE ONE TRUE KING. Stop claiming things over your life that will defeat you and begin to claim life, healing and restoration over yourself. You will be resurrected, chains will be broken and you will be set free.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God. 1 John 3:1
